Interesting perspective from the New York Observer on Jeff Jarvis' viewpoint of the future of journalism and the newspaper industry. According to Jarvis (who might seem to some as very controversial), the old business of journalism has failed. The new model of journalism needs to begin with a smaller staff and more cooperation of the public, or what is known as citizen journalism, and video. Since we are approaching a recession (others might say we are in one), we all need to downsize while discovering new ways to accomplish more and do things differently, I tend to agree with Jarvis. I guess at the end of the day, it's all a matter of perspective... does change give power or take power away?
